JESUS CHRIST: OUR ADVOCATE
Imagine the joy of accused when the judge reject the accusation of his opponent and even rebuked the accuser for his sake. This is exactly what GOD did for Joshua in the book of Prophet Zechariah 3:1-2 “Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel's right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. And the Lord said to Satan, "I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire."
This is what CHRIST does for HIS children whenever satan brings accusation against them, GOD is our father and HE love us so much, HE is merciful and compassionate, HE knows that satan is not always happy with the believers and will want to achieve his mission of ‘stealing, killing and destroying’ (John 10:10) which is not possible unless GOD withdrawal HIS hand. Remember his accusation against Job “Satan replied to the Lord, "Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has and he will surely curse you to your face!" (Job 1:9-11 NLT) “Satan replied to the Lord, "Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. But reach out and take away his health and he will surely curse you to your face!" (Job 2:4-5 NLT). As a child of GOD there is nothing satan can do to you unless GOD allow it. There is no accuser both physical and spiritual that can stand you, Isaiah 50:8-9 says ‘He who gives me justice is near. Who will dare to bring charges against me now? Where are my accusers? Let them appear! See, the Sovereign Lord is on my side! Who will declare me guilty? All my enemies will be destroyed like old clothes that have been eaten by moths!’ (NLT).
“My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.” (1 John 2:1)
This privilege is only for the children of GOD, those that accept HIS only son in the person of JESUS CHRIST as their LORD and SAVIOUR, for HE was sent to the earth as GOD “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 NLT). "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him" (John 3:16-17 NLT).
It’s now left for you to accept the advocacy of CHRIST or keep doing it your way but remember that no one can be righteous before GOD except through grace in CHRIST, its only by faith in HIM that you can be accepted as GOD’s child, Isaiah 53:10 says ‘But it was the Lord's good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord's good plan will prosper in his hands.’ And it’s only by their faith that the righteous will life (Hebrew 2:4).
I admonish you to accept HIM today and HE will silence your entire accuser before you.
