BE SENSITIVE AND MAKE USE OF THE OPPORTUNITY

When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.”But Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel. The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?”“Yes, I know,” Elisha replied, “so be quiet.” (2 Kings 2:1-3)

The company of the prophets was aware that the great prophet Elijah would be taken away, just like Elisha. However, they only observed. Elisha's unwavering determination saw him stand by Elijah until the very end. His tenacity paid off at the end when he received a double portion of prophet Elijah's spirit (2 Kings 2:11-13). He parted the Jordan River just as prophet Elijah did, and the company of prophets came to bow down to him (2 Kings 2:14-16).

We've all seen great opportunities fall by the wayside because we were not sensitive enough, didn't take action, or didn't take them at the right time. The Scripture says ‘ If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.(James 4:17) ‘Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Don't wait, take action right away. Don't overlook the opportunities, don't listen to what others are saying, and ultimately, people will bow before you.

Today is the day to receive Christ into your life, so make sure you don't miss out. Without Him, there is no eternal life as He was sent to die for our sins by God. (John 3:16).
