HEART OF GRATITUDE
The Scripture talks about the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus, but only one of them came back to give thanks to the Lord. His faith was recorded to have made him whole (Luke 17:11-19). Showing gratitude is an act of faith, which means you have faith in the person and know that they have the capacity to do more.
The kindness and provision of God, as well as His love, grace, mercy, protection, and healing, are taken for granted by many of us, believing it is our own power or entitlement, causing us to not thank God enough or at all, just as the remaining nine lepers. If we could do this to God, who is Almighty and our creator, we wouldn't have any problem doing it to our fellow humans either. There are those who don't express gratitude to those who helped or did something for them, and they will even ask for another in the future. God wants to be thanked. Your gratitude is something he desires for you to demonstrate. Scripture says in Psalm 107:1, Psalm 136:1, and Psalm 118:1, 'Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever.' Jesus asked in Luke 17:17-18, 'Didn't I heal ten men?' Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”. We are now in the eleventh month of the year and there have been many things that have transpired since it began. Being here and standing today is a privilege. Praise God for His work. Don't take it for granted. Stop whining about what does not work and show appreciation for what does. He is God and our creator. He knows what we need and will surely supply them according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
