GOD CANNOT BE PREDICTED
'His son Saul was the most handsome man in Israel—head and shoulders taller than anyone else in the land’. 1 Samuel 9:2. The scriptures are discussing the first king of Israel, who was rejected by God because of his disobedience (1 Samuel 15:10-23). God then sent Prophet Samuel to Jesse's house to anoint him another king for Israel. When all the Jesse children arrived and Samuel saw Eliab's appearance and stature, he concluded in his heart that he was God's chosen. God reacted quickly in 1 Samuel 16:7. 'But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Don't judge him by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. ' The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
God is unpredicted and unchangeable. He sits in heaven and does what He desires, and no one can ask Him why (Psalm 115:3, Daniel 4:35). Just because he did it in a certain way yesterday doesn't imply that it will be the same way today. The approach He took last year to meet your needs may not be the same this year. The manner in which He did it for someone may not be the same as how He will do it for you.
Jesus healed a blind man by spitting on the ground, making mud with the saliva, applying it to his eyes, and telling him to wash it in the pool of Siloam. However, in the case of Bartimaeus, Jesus just said, 'All right, receive your sight! ' Your faith has healed you. ” And the man was healed (Luke 18:35-42). Don't let too much familiarity with God lead to the loss of your miracle. Just listen to Him, believe Him, and do what He advises you to do. Don't allow your heart to become hardened or stiff-necked. Though nothing shall be impossible with Him (Luke 1:37), He also has the power to do it in His own way and in His own time, but not yours.
What a powerful and insightful reflection on the nature of God and His ways!
ReplyDeleteYou've beautifully highlighted the importance of trusting in God's sovereignty and unpredictability. As you've noted, God doesn't operate based on human expectations or past experiences. He is the Almighty, who does as He pleases, and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).
The examples you've shared from Scripture are particularly striking. The story of Saul's rejection and David's anointing reminds us that God looks at the heart, not outward appearances (1 Samuel 16:7). And the accounts of Jesus' healings demonstrate that God's methods can vary greatly, even when the outcome is the same.
Your warning against becoming too familiar with God is also timely. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we know how God will work or when He will answer our prayers. But as you've emphasized, God's ways are unpredictable, and we must remain humble, trusting, and obedient.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring and thought-provoking message!
May we indeed learn to trust in God's sovereignty, listen to His voice, and follow His leading, even when His ways seem mysterious or unpredictable.
A good lesson in learning to walk with the Lord. His ways ar obviously not our ways. Thanks for this message
