FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN (4) ‘’THE EVERLASTING FATHER”
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. Isaiah 9:6
Today, we will discuss 'The Everlasting Father'. Let's keep in mind that we are presenting the greatest gift ever given to the world, and thanks to God, we have covered the topics of 'The government shall be upon His shoulder', 'Wonderful counselor', and 'The Almighty God', all of which are connected to Jesus Christ.
Everlasting means 'lasting forever', which means 'eternal'. The Everlasting Father status of Jesus Christ signifies that he will be our father throughout eternity, without any end. He was present before the world and will continue to be even after the world ceases to exist. He has been our Father and won't cease to be just because of his love towards us. The scripture says in Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.
Providing for one's children is one of the responsibilities of a good father. As we are aware, Jehovah Jireh is among His names and can be translated to the Lord who provides (Genesis 12:14). Our physical and spiritual needs are covered by him. You can trust Him. Even if your earthly father fails you, he is still there to give you good things. He says in Matthew 7:11 ‘If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!’
God, our Father, has a promising future for us in Jeremiah 29:11. Do you feel comfortable approaching Him as your father? The Scripture says ‘For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God’ Romans 8:15-16. Accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour, believing in Him with your hearth and confessing Him with your mouth are necessary to become His child. 'For with the heart, one believes in righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made to salvation.' Romans 10:10. Take action today to become His child and enjoy the blessings of the Everlasting Father.
Glory be to the Lord
