IS GOD A GOOD BUSINESS MAN?

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?  And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:4-7.

Whenever I read this story, I just wonder: would I leave ninety-nine in the desert and go after just one, risking the life of ninety-nine? Normally, there is no sense in it. But we are talking about God who sent His only Son to die for the sin of the world. The scriptures say in 1 John 4:9-10 ‘In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. God's love for us is overwhelming, and He loves us even before we even know Him’. ‘God's love for us is manifested in Christ's sacrifice for us while we were still sinners’ Romans 5:8. I want you to know that He would have come to die even if you were the only one in this world.

The parable highlights the significance of the lost soul to God, as there is happiness in heaven for a repentant sinner. ‘And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned’. Mark 16:15-16.

Are you going to take advantage of His love and come to Him so that you can have eternal life, or will you reject it and be condemned?  “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! Deuteronomy 30:19. Don't let the devil ruin your soul; he has no good for you. His goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. However, Christ has come to give us abundant life (John 10:10).
