THE SECOND HALF

In many team sports, matches are played in two halves. The second half gives the team at a disadvantage a chance to restrategize, adjust, and turn the game around. For the leading team, it’s about staying focused and protecting the advantage until the final whistle.

The same principle applies to the calendar year. With twelve months split into two halves, the second half runs from July through December. This is not the time to sit back and wallow in the disappointments of the first half. It’s time to readjust your plan, raise your game, and take an honest look at where you fell short so you can work on it.

Just because things didn’t go as planned in the first half doesn’t mean the second half can’t end in victory. Scripture reminds us in Haggai 2:9, “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former.” God still has something better in store for you in these remaining months. Your part is to trust Him and believe that with God on your side, you can make the comeback happen.

Don’t give up. Don’t relent. Go back to that place you were rejected before. Apply for that job again. Rewrite that proposal. Take the step. As you move, watch things begin to turn around for your good.
