FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN (2) “WONDERFUL COUNSELOR”

Image
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. Isaiah 9:6 In the previous part, we discussed 'the government shall be upon His shoulder', and today, we'll explore the phrase 'Wonderful Counselor'. Keep in mind that we are discussing the most significant gift ever given to the world.   Who is a counselor? He is trained to provide guidance on personal or psychological problems. They provide advice to those who need it. Wisdom, knowledge, and experience are the necessary traits of a counselor. We were informed in the first part that Jesus is the embodiment of God's wisdom ( 1 Corinthians 1:24). Also, Jesus, though God, came to this world in the flesh as a human just to experience and feel how it is like. The Scripture says in Hebrew 4:15 “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understan...

FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN (1)

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. Isaiah 9:6 The world's greatest gift of all time is Christ's birth, which was carried out because of God's love for us. The Bible declares that 'the government will be on His shoulders'. What are the definitions of government? Firstly, it is the group of people with the authority to govern a country or state, a particular ministry  office. This means that Jesus has the authority to govern the earth and everything that is on it. Matthew 28:18 says ‘Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth’. Another definition of government is the system by which a state or community is governed. Jesus is an authority, the righteous system, and can never fail. It's in Him that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). He advis...

DON’T GIVE UP

Image
Whenever there are some kilometers or distance left in a race, athletes increase their pace and tap into their reserves to draw energy to finish strong for the medal. With a few days left until the end of the year, I want to remind you that this is not the moment to quit. We need to increase our efforts, prayer, and faith in God to complete the tasks and projects we started earlier this year. But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” ( Luke 9:62 ). Are you requesting or anticipating a response from God, but you're feeling down because this year is almost over? I want to remind you that the heaven and earth were created in only six days ( Exodus 20:11 ), and if God could do that in such a short amount of time, I don't think your case is significant. Nothing is impossible to Him as He is God ( Luke 1:37 ). Never give up, keep striving, and keep believing in Jesus, and in the end you will surely rejoice.

THE HIJACKED LIFE

Image
The 9/11 attack, where two planes were hijacked and flown into the North and South Towers of The World Trade Center in New York City, resulting in both towers collapsing, remains one of the unforgettable occurrences in the world.   The attack was not planned by the original pilot of the plane, but it happened because some terrorist hijacked the plane from them. The Scripture mentions a demon-possessed man who lived in a tomb in Gadarenes. Despite being naked and unable to be held by a chain or shackles, it was discovered that an army of unclean spirits was inhabiting him. They are the ones controlling his life. They've hijacked it from him and make him do whatever they want. After Jesus removed them from his life, the man became still and free and began spreading the Gospel of the Lord ( Luke 8:26-39). Most of us are living a life that we don't want or like to live, but we can't control it. It's because our life has been hijacked by the devil or his agent in human for...

HEART OF GRATITUDE

Image
The Scripture talks about the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus, but only one of them came back to give thanks to the Lord. His faith was recorded to have made him whole ( Luke 17:11-19 ). Showing gratitude is an act of faith, which means you have faith in the person and know that they have the capacity to do more.  The kindness and provision of God, as well as His love, grace, mercy, protection, and healing, are taken for granted by many of us, believing it is our own power or entitlement, causing us to not thank God enough or at all, just as the remaining nine lepers. If we could do this to God, who is Almighty and our creator, we wouldn't have any problem doing it to our fellow humans either. There are those who don't express gratitude to those who helped or did something for them, and they will even ask for another in the future. God wants to be thanked. Your gratitude is something he desires for you to demonstrate. Scripture says in Psalm 107:1 , Psalm 136:1 , and Psa...

YOU STILL HAVE ACT IT OUT (THE MARVELOUS JOURNEY)

Image
After viewing the documentary on Giannis Sina Ugo Adetokumpo titled ‘ The Marvelous Journey ’ from Prime Video. I was reflecting on how he grew up in a slum in Greece and achieved success as a basketball player for  Milwaukee Bucks  in NBA and his country. I inquired with God, 'Have you composed all of that?', The answer was, "Yes, but you still have to execute it." I recalled the vigorous practice, workout, discipline, and deep love for God and his family. Having a script written for you by the producer is not enough; you must show up and perform your role. “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might” (Ecclesiastes 9 : 10). It's possible for you to be chosen to bring your family out of poverty, just like Giannis, or do some great things, but if you don't rise to the occasion. Someone else will be chosen by God. Remember, King Saul was replaced by little David just because of his disobedience. 1 Samuel 13:14 “But now your kingdom must end, for th...

DON’T FALL FOR DEVIL’S ILLUSION

Image
In the movie ' Black Adam' , Hawkman ( Aldis Hodge ) realized that Teth-Adam ( Dwayne Johnson) was too strong for him. He called Doctor Fate ( Pierce Brosnan ) to create an illusion for Teth-Adam. Teth-Adam became distracted upon seeing his past, and Hawkman was able to hit him.  An illusion is defined as an image that is misleading to the eyes or something that deceives or misleads intellectually.  We all have a past and strive for a better future, which necessitates focus, hard work, and confidence in the Lord. Without Him, there is no possibility of accomplishment. ‘We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.’ (Proverb 16:9). Also Proverbs 3:5-6 says ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  The Devil will likely come to distract us, demonstrating the world and promising things that are not his property. The only means of overcoming this is throu...
